Heading into Wild Card Weekend, the Miami Dolphins have announced a bit of a surprise at quarterback.
Although prior reporting had led to the belief that Teddy Bridgewater would be their starter, it appears that they will be rolling out a rookie at quarterback this weekend.
Mike McDaniel says as of today they are preparing for rookie Skylar Thompson to start Sunday vs. Bills.
Teddy Bridgewater is preparing himself to be ready for Sunday but only if he has no setbacks. So team is prepping Skylar as QB1 this week as of now.

Bridgewater could be called upon should something happen to Skylar Thompson, but the team is preparing to go with Thompson at the helm.
Thompson has started two games for the Dolphins this season.
His first career start came against the Minnesota Vikings but was relieved by Bridgewater after suffering a thumb injury during the game.
The Dolphins ended up losing that game.
Thompson’s second career start came against the New York Jets last week, where he didn’t throw any touchdown passes, but didn’t throw any interceptions either.
In a game where no touchdowns were scored, Thompson and the Dolphins came away with the victory, which vaulted them into the playoffs.
On Sunday, Thompson will likely be tasked with starting against the Buffalo Bills, who have one of the best defenses in the league.
Coupled with the elite play of Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills’ offense, the Dolphins will certainly have their work cut out for them, and will need to pull out every trick in the book to defeat their division rival.
These two teams have split the season series, although they had Tua Tagovailoa at the helm for both games.
Will Thompson and company be able to pull out an unlikely victory?
