The Detroit Lions are not to happy with Fanatics after they leaked the teams new uniforms, here's what happened
Lon Horwedel-USA TODAY Sports

Thursday night was supposed to be a huge night for the Detroit Lions. Season ticket holders were going to meet up at Ford Field to be the first to set eyes on the Lions new uniforms.

Then moments after Lions GM Brad Holmes finished up his pre-draft press conference, USA Today's wire sites put out a sponsored post on each of their sites that explained how you could buy the Lions new jerseys. The problem is that they included pictures of the jerseys.

The website Fanatics handles basically all of the NFL's merchandise as well as the rest of the major sports leagues in America. They have sponsored partnership with USA Today and that's how this all happened. USA Today has since disabled the link and when you open the page there's nothing there. But the internet moves fast and all they needed was a small window.

Everyone got a hold of it and the Lions then confirmed that this is the new look and how they're disappointed that it leaked and canceled out their hard work on the layout.

It didn't stop with McNeil's response. Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone called out Fanatics on Twitter soon after.

Despite this leak, the Lions are handling everything really well and hilariously like they always seem to do. They even put out a behind the scenes video of quarterback Jared Goff holding up his black jersey and making a joke about how he was going to leak it to Twitter.

There's still a lot that we don't know about the new look. We don't know pants, helmet and uniform combinations and if there's a third helmet. We also don't know if this is the full look. There might be something else that they haven't showed yet. We'll find out more on Thursday night.
